Tessa Haesevoets

Tessa Haesevoets is a research Professor at the Department of Public Governance and Management. She obtained her PhD in Psychology in 2017. Her research focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence in the public sector, with particular attention to how public organizations — and their employees — experience, interpret, and adapt to this rapidly evolving technology. She adopts a human-centered approach, placing the people who work with or are affected by AI at the core of her research rather than the technology itself. Using experimental methods, she systematically examines human-AI interactions within public institutions. Her work bridges the gap between technological innovation and public values, providing governments with actionable insights for developing ethical, human-centered digital transformations.
